A clean, repeatable cut depends on four decisions: the blade must suit the material, fit the machine, run within its speed rating and receive the cooling method it was designed for. Use this sequence as a job-planning checklist.
Record whether the workpiece is granite, marble, concrete, reinforced concrete, ceramic or another material. Note thickness, reinforcement, desired edge quality and whether the cut is straight, curved or a groove. These details determine rim design and bond choice.
Confirm diameter capacity, arbor size, spindle direction, RPM and available power. Inspect the guard, flanges, bearings and guide system. The blade’s maximum rated speed must never be lower than the machine speed.
Use water only with equipment approved for wet cutting. Water should reach both sides of the cutting edge and carry slurry away. When a blade is approved for dry use, make controlled passes and allow cooling intervals. Never assume that every diamond blade supports both methods.
Disconnect power, clean the mounting surfaces, follow the rotation marking and tighten the flange according to the machine manual. Reject any blade with cracks, a missing segment, severe runout or a damaged arbor.
Even segment wear normally indicates stable alignment and feed. One-sided wear may point to spindle play, poor alignment or uneven coolant flow. A polished cutting face can indicate glazing or a bond that is too hard for the material. Diagnose the setup before increasing pressure.
Let the blade stop before placing the machine down. Disconnect power before cleaning or inspection. Remove slurry, dry the blade and store it flat or on a suitable rack. Keep a simple record of blade type, material, cut length and any abnormal wear for the next setup.
Information to provide an OEM supplier: machine model, diameter, arbor, RPM, material, cutting method, target depth and expected output. A sample cut or worn-blade photo can make troubleshooting more precise.
