What Are Wall Groove Cutting Blades Mainly Used For?
In construction, renovation, and plumbing installations, wall groove cutting blades are an indispensable professional tool. Many people ask when first encountering this product: what exactly is it used for? Let’s explain in detail.
3 Core Uses of Wall Groove Cutting Blades
1. Chasing Channels for Electrical Wiring
The most common application in interior renovation is cutting chase channels for wires, switches, and sockets. Using a diamond wall groove cutting blade creates uniformly deep channels in walls. Once wires are embedded and the wall is restored, the result is both aesthetically pleasing and safe. Compared to manual chiseling, cutting blades work 3 times faster with clean, chip-free channel edges.
2. Plumbing Pipe Channel Construction
Kitchen and bathroom water pipe routing also requires wall chasing. Wall groove cutting blades precisely control channel width and depth, ensuring pipe installation doesn’t compromise wall structural integrity. Huada Ginkgo’s wall groove blades use hot-pressed sintering technology, cutting concrete and brick walls sharply and durably, reducing frequent blade changes.
3. Renovation and Remodeling Wall Chasing
Old house renovations and spatial reconfigurations often require rerouting utility lines. Wall groove cutting blades work efficiently on both load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls, suitable for cement mortar, red brick, aerated blocks, and various wall materials.
How to Choose the Right Wall Groove Cutting Blade?
Selecting the right blade directly impacts work quality and efficiency. Several key parameters matter:
• Diameter selection: Common sizes are 105mm (4-inch) and 125mm (5-inch). 4-inch suits home angle grinders; 5-inch cuts deeper and faster
• Blade width: Wall groove blades have wider segments than standard blades, typically 6-10mm, perfectly matching standard conduit sizes
• Material choice: For concrete, choose diamond cutting blades; for brick, carbide blades work but diamond blades are more versatile and durable
Precautions When Using Wall Groove Cutting Blades
Safety is paramount. Always wear safety goggles and dust masks — wall chasing generates significant dust. Wet cutting is recommended: water cooling reduces dust and extends blade life. Maintain steady feed rate during cutting; avoid forced pressure that causes overheating and blade distortion.
Huada Ginkgo has specialized in diamond cutting tool manufacturing for over a decade. Our wall groove cutting blade series covers 4-inch to 7-inch specifications, with hot-pressed sintering ensuring optimal balance of segment hardness and sharpness. Visit ginkgoen.com for details.
FAQ
What’s the difference between wall groove cutting blades and standard cutting blades?
Wall groove blades have wider segments (6-10mm vs 2-3mm), specifically designed for channel cutting. Standard blades only cut narrow slots.
Can wall groove cutting blades be used for dry cutting?
Yes, but wet cutting performs better — less dust, smoother cut surfaces, and longer blade life.
How much cutting depth difference between 4-inch and 5-inch wall groove blades?
4-inch max depth ~20mm, 5-inch reaches 25-30mm. Check conduit diameter before selecting blade size.
